DECO | Intelligent Driving Safety Guard - Fully Redundant Intelligent Steering System

The emergence of "fully redundant steering"

As the level of assisted driving increases, the driving subject gradually shifts from the driver to the vehicle system. To ensure that it is always in operation, redundant systems are essential.

For autonomous vehicle, safety is the first prerequisite. Advanced autonomous driving can only ensure true safety by achieving redundancy like in the aviation industry.

At present, the redundancy scope of advanced assisted driving mainly includes perception and positioning redundancy (environmental monitoring), controller redundancy (brain), actuator redundancy (braking, steering), communication redundancy (control information transmission), and power redundancy (support failure degradation).

Redundant backup strategy for intelligent driving chassis execution layer

Advanced autonomous driving requires not only the improvement of perception, calculation, and decision-making abilities, but also the support of wire controlled chassis technology.

L3 level assisted driving requires EPS to still have certain assistance capabilities in the event of a single point of failure. Under this requirement, redundant EPS has become a key component of L3 level and above intelligent driving systems.

DECO's fully redundant EPS product adopts core electrical components and software algorithm redundancy backup, which can support L3 and above autonomous driving functions, and ensures no single point of failure in terms of functional safety. It has a complete redundancy strategy, greatly improving driving safety.

The fully redundant intelligent steering system independently developed by DECO is a comprehensive solution for the steering system of pure autonomous vehicles.

The system adopts a six phase dual redundant permanent magnet synchronous motor as the actuator, and implements dual system redundancy design for power input, ECU control, sensor acquisition, and system communication, which can meet the highest level of usage and safety requirements of unmanned driving systems.eps

Struggling with determination, standing up the "backbone of China"

Before the large-scale production and installation of online control steering, redundant EPS will become the core technology in L3+intelligent driving scenarios.

Redundant EPS requires a more complex system architecture and functional safety to ensure the safety, reliability, and driving experience of vehicles, therefore there are also higher technical barriers.

For more than 20 years, DECO has been determined to explore new technologies and promote industry technological change. It has always maintained its original intention of "leading industry change through technological innovation", persisted in independently mastering key core technologies of the steering system, and fought for the localization and localization of core components in the automotive industry!
